How to acquire a Mountain Gorilla Trekking Permit in Rwanda
While planning Mountain Gorilla trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, it is very important to book the gorilla permit in advance to avoid missing out on your preferred date. Booking a gorilla permit in Rwanda can be done on these ways;
Direct Booking with Rwanda Development Board (RDB). RDB is the main public tourism governing body in destination Rwanda and is the sole seller of Gorilla permits in Rwanda. Booking through a tour Agent: Booking gorilla permit in Rwanda can also be done using a tour operator like Prime Safaris & Tours Ltd or any other listed tour company. This is the most commonly used method since many Rwanda gorilla safari undertakers book all inclusive tour packages.
Regardless of the method used, it is advisable to book in advance to be able to get a gorilla permit on your preferred travel date. While rescheduling a fully paid up gorilla permit in Rwanda, a fine of $150 is paid to the Rwanda Development Board.
Passport Information from Visitors
During the Mountain Gorilla permit booking and printing, the visitor is required to forward the passport information that include; Full Names, Passport number, Nationality, Date of Birth and Dates of issue and expiry.
The minimum age for Gorilla tracking in Rwanda is 15 years.
